Director of Missions
Dr. Walter C. Jackson
I was born and raised in Houston and graduated from Houston Baptist University in 1985. In 1988, I earned my Master of Divinity from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, followed by a Doctor of Ministry and Ph.D. from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana, in 2014.
My ministry journey began in youth ministry, serving in three churches from 1982 to 1989. Over the next 22 years, I had the privilege of pastoring four churches across Texas before stepping into my current role as Director of Missions for the Guadalupe Baptist Association in June 2012.
My wife, Lisa, and I have been happily married since 1988, and we are blessed with three grown children and five wonderful grandchildren. What I love most about this ministry is the opportunity to encourage and support churches, helping them thrive in their mission.
Hello! My name is Jessica Barnes. I graduated from Edna High School and earned my cosmetology license from Victoria Beauty College. Currently, I am studying ministry and the Bible at Stark College & Seminary, working toward a Certificate with the goal of earning a Bachelor's Degree in Ministry.
I am blessed to be married to Corey, and together we have three wonderful children—Blair (14), Paislee (8), and Carter (4). We live in Edna and are active members of Vanderbilt Baptist Church, where I serve with the Youth Group. Youth ministry has been a passion of mine since 2013, and I am thrilled to step into the role of Director for the Baptist Student Ministry of the Guadalupe Baptist Association. I look forward to serving and supporting students in their faith journey!
Administrative Assistant
Lisa Jackson
I was born and raised in Arlington and was blessed to come to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 11. I am married to Walter Jackson, and together we have three grown children and five wonderful grandchildren who bring so much joy to my life.
As a pastor’s wife, I have had the privilege of serving in various roles throughout the churches my husband has pastored. In addition, my background in business—including experience in sales, customer service, marketing, administration, banking, and finance—has equipped me well for my role at Guadalupe Baptist Association.
It is truly an honor to serve as your Administrative Assistant and oversee the financials for GBA. I am grateful for the opportunity to support this ministry and the churches we serve.
